”Olen aina halunnut olla tarinankertoja. Joten siirtyminen pois kameran edestä mallin töistä kameran taakse valokuvaajaksi, tuntui hyvin luonnolliselta. Tein ensimmäisen muotijuttuni City-lehdelle New Yorkissa. Vuosi taisi olla 1983.

Muoti kiinnostaa minua, koska se on lähellä ihmistä. Minulle on hyvin tärkeää luoda kuviini autettinen tunnelma. Merkityksellistä on myös sommittelu ja yksityiskohtien huomiointi. Jokainen yksilöllinen kuva on osa isompaa tarinaa ja jokainen pieni yksityiskohta kuvassa on oma maailmansa.

Jokainen haluaa tulla nähdyksi ja kuulluksi. Minulle on tärkeää auttaa ihmisiä näkemään itsessään parhaimpansa. Yksityinen kuvaussessio voi olla vähän kuin terapiaistunto, jossa autan ihmisiä näkemään itsenä uudella tapaa. Ihmisiä, joita olen valokuvannut ja sitä kautta valmentanut ovat muun muassa Alicia Vikander, Laura Birn, Hannah Alström, Rebecca Fergusson. On myös hienoa, kuinka voin antaa ihmisille merkityksellisen hetken, joka voi myös auttaa toivottavasti heitä tekemään itselle vahvempaa minäkuvaa.”

Marica Rosengård teki ensin kansainvälisen uran mallina ja oli 80-luvun yksi Suomen suosituimpia malleja. Hän on hyvin arvostettu muotikuvaaja, jonka asiakkaita ovat muun muassa Gloria, Stockmann, Elle, Ril’s ja Synsam. Lukuisia muita asiakkaita sekä editorial että kaupalliselta puolelta on mahtunut mukaan vuosien mittaan. Upeiden kuviensa lisäksi hänet tunnetaan erityisesti taidoistaan ohjata malleja. Marica toimi vuoden 2017 Suomen Huippumalli haussa -ohjelman tuomarina. Marica Rosengård on toiminut vierailevana opettajana Lahden Muotoiluinstituutissa sekä Helsink Design Schoolissa.

”I always wanted to be a storyteller so making the jump from being in the story as a model to being behind the camera as a photographer felt very natural. I did my first fashion story for City-lehti in New York. The year might have been 1983.

Fashion interests me because it is close to people. For me it is important to create an authentic feeling that reaches out to the one looking at the picture. Composition and paying attention to the detail. Every single picture is part of a bigger story and every detail in it self is it’s own universe.

Everybody want to be seen and heard. A special interest for me is helping people to look and feel their best. A private photo session can be a bit like a theraphy session where I help people see themselves in a new way. Some of the people I have ’photo coached’ are amongst other Alicia Vikander, Laura Birn, Hannah Alström, Rebecca Fergusson to name a few. I also take great pleasure in giving the so called woman/man their moment in the healing sportlight and hopefully contribute towards a stronger sence of self.”

Marica Rosengård made her first international career as a model and was one of Finland’s favourite models of the 1980’s. She is now a respected fashion photographer and her clientele includes leading brands such as Gloria, Stockmann, Elle, Ril’s and Synsam. Numerous other clients both editorial and commercial have accumulated over time. Apart from creating wonderful images, she is also particularly known for her ability to direct models. Marica was one of the judges for the TV reality series, Finland’s Top Model, in 2017. Marica Rosengård has also worked as a visiting professor at the Lahti Institute of Art and Design, and the Helsinki Design School.
