Maija Tammi

Maija Tammi (s. 1985) on suomalainen taiteilija. Tammen valokuvat, videot ja veistokset käsittelevät tieteen ja taiteen suhdetta sekä inhoa ja ihastusta. Tammen teokset ovat olleet näyttelyissä Euroopassa, Pohjois-Amerikassa ja Aasiassa. Hän sai Fotofinlandia-palkinnon vuonna 2011. Tammen toinen valokuvakirja White Rabbit Fever (Bromide Books) julkaistiin tänä kesänä.

Tammi on visuaalisen journalismin maisteri ja viimeistelee tällä hetkelllä taiteellista väitöskirjaansa Aalto-yliopiston taiteiden ja suunnittelun korkeakoulussa Helsingissä.

 


 

Maija Tammi (b. 1985) is a Finnish artist whose photographs, video and sculptures converse on topics around disgust and fascination, science and aesthetics. She regularly collaborates with scientists and musicians. Tammi’s works have been exhibited in Europe, North America and Asia. Her second book, White Rabbit Fever (Bromide Books) was published this summer (2017).
Tammi has a Masters in visual journalism and she worked as a photojournalist for six years before launching her artistic career. She is currently completing her studio art-based doctoral thesis at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki, Finland.
